Accessibility in the Sliding Scale Payment Method

In pregnancy and birth, you should feel like you are walking through a season of abundance in support and love. Golden Hour is deeply committed to walking alongside the women of Northwest Arkansas despite their financial circumstance. In an attempt to fill your cup so that you may grow and thrive in your new role as Mother, I strive to be accessible to anyone seeking my care.

It is countercultural to the mission and heart behind Golden Hour to be a source of stress or appear unattainable for the families that I serve — or long to serve — in any capacity. In an attempt to mitigate this issue, I now utilize the Green Bottle Sliding Scale Method.

This method, developed by Alexis J. Cunningfolk and Britt Hawthorne is a visual tool to help guide families in identifying their level of financial freedom and capacity to afford my offerings or how “full” your financial bottle is perceived to be. Based on you identifying your level, a tailored rate will be applied to working with one another. This decision is somewhat subjective, by design, and Golden Hour will have zero influence in deciding where you fall on this scale. Simply put, if there is a perceived “lack” in this season of your life, let me be the added blessing to you.

In full transparency, I have struggled since Golden Hour was launched knowing something wasn’t quite right. I have had the privilege to serve women in the birthing space outside of Golden Hour. Putting red tape in the form of a price tag on how and where the Lord has called me to serve in operating my own business has not been as life-giving. The Lord has opened this door for me so that I am still financially blessed without burdening the women I am to serve. But more so, this will be a blessing to all women that do have financial freedom and can compensate for their care at a more robust rate, as they will be allowing me to continue to serve those who may not be in the same position. God is good to not only invite me into Kingdom Work, but he also invites the individuals I will be working with to bless others through this ministry.

Please visit my Offerings + Pricing page as my own adaptation of the Green Bottle Sliding Scale Method is more easily viewed there. However, this is what it looks like in whole! The bottle serves as a visual to imagining how “full” we are financially and how much we are willing or able to pour out. I appreciate this as it has been difficult for potential clients in the past to allow me to “on the fly” lower my rates and that be an acceptable form of payment for them. I think normalizing that a range of payment is most welcomed at Golden Hour will lower the entry-point in some capacity which will only mean more women and families served.

If you have any questions about my pricing method please do not hesitate to reach out to me! Otherwise, we can discuss it further in our consultation!

In love and light,

Elizabeth
